Hello, I’m one of this year’s Google Summer of Code students and I’ll be working on integration with CiviCRM – mainly on the multilingual support.

The multilingual support for CiviCRM (which is the ability to not only switch between various languages for the user interface of an installation, but to have actual data stored in many languages in parallel) was developed during my last year’s GSoC project. While still deemed a bit experimental, the multilingual features were picked up by surprisingly many installations, and this year’s project will address various fixes, enhancements and better workflows for CiviCRM, its integration with Joomla! and for our translators, who are the true unsung heroes, doing splendid work at the base of every new language supported in CiviCRM.

The main scope of this year’s GSoC works is described on the project specifications page, accompanied with a tentative timeline (subject to change based on the actual implementation progress).
