Long ago since the last time I blogged. J!Research 1.2, main job, travel to Germany (which includes German classes) and GSoC 2009 are enough to keep my mind always busy and sometimes stressed but the fact of feeling useful is quite rewarding and compensates this apparent excess of duties. It reminds me Mark's words regarding mentoring two projects with such time differences, it is a challenge and today, more than ever, I think he is right: 8 hours with Mostafa's, 11 and a half with Garthee.

In Mostafa's particular case, we have had several problems in arraging our normal weekly meeting due to our tight schedules (and the fact I am experiencing technical problems with my computer :S) but they have been circunvemted through a continuous communication via email. In spite of this, I am proud to say  JWF is on the way to its first beta release which will be announced by mid-term evaluation. This release will include a fully functional administrator interface, which I witness, will be the result of a hard and brilliant work. System plugins, interface to create workflows and stations and support for hooks are almost ready and his current work is focused in implementing some usability and functional suggestions, I have given to him and can be found in project's tracker. Furthermore, the next step will be to test the current codebase under Joomla 1.6 as he has developed under 1.5.

Mostafa has stated his schedule will become a little tighter in second phase of GSoC and is trying to be ahead of schedule now. I will be glad in being his principal source of testing and collaborating with Spanish translation when appropiate as well as blogging more often to keep the community aware of his work. If you are interested in this project, feel free to download the code, test it and report any issue, suggestion or requirement in tracker. Second phase of GSoC will be devoted to provide frontend functionalities, documentation and as many translations as possible. Help is welcome!!
