Busy and dealing with technical problems as always, I have finally found a day to set up a working box after my laptop's tragical dead, write a blog entry and devote time to GSoC. Mostafa has released a beta for his component with a fully functional backend. Until now, I have tested it in Joomla 1.5, started Spanish package and now working in providing valuable testing and feedback in 1.6. Only a matter worries me a little: lock/unlock functionality in 1.6.

Stations are the steps that compound workflow and are associated to an ACL group. When the workflow has reached an state, workflowed items should be locked so only users belonging to the station group can edit them. A thread has been started to discuss how to implement this feature and feedback at the moment is mandatory. Unfortunately I have not gone deep into access tables structure but everything seems to indicate that it can be reached by playing with them. Another approach (got from a tweet) suggests to check out the item (perhaps using a one of the members' id), copy it to a new one, share with station group using a rule of type 2 and check in it when complete. Of course all them are vague ideas and feedback in this sense will be appreciated. If you know how to lock/unlock items effectively in Joomla 1.6, please post a comment or an email in this thread. Finally Mostafa is having a very important exam in these days and will have a very tight schedule several days starting from this week I will try to be as more useful as possible during this period in order to fill the gap. Good luck my friend, I am sure you'll do an outstanding job :D
