Hi!

My name is Erica and you probably have no idea who I am. I'll try to explain.

About a year and a half ago, I had the opportunity to help out at a Joomla! Day in New York. I got the chance to meet a lot of people working on and with Joomla and found the community to be a lot of fun.

Fast forward 2 months when I went to the Joomla PBF in New York and helped out a small group of Joomla contributors with squashing bugs before the 1.5 release. Once again, great people working on a great project.

I kept in touch with some of the core team members and visited various events when I had the chance. Fast forward to now.

The online social media space is exploding as everyone is starting to realize that the internet can be a great tool to reach the people who use your product; in this case Joomla! Of course the people at Joomla know that already but with the dedication to the project and the site, the time just wasn't there to branch out into the online social space.

This is where I come in. I'm a bit of a internet-aholic and I spend the vast majority of my time online. I figured I should put my time online to good use and what better way than to help out with a project that I am already familiar with. Social media is sort of my thing so I've volunteered to help the Joomla project with its social efforts.

In the coming weeks, your can expect to see more of a Joomla presence around the internet as we try to reach all the Joomla users around the world in the places where you hang out online. In fact, you can check out the Joomla accounts on Twitter and FriendFeed right now with many more to come.

I look forward to getting to know the Joomla community more and interacting with you all in the future. See you on the intarwebz!
