We are announcing a Joomla! Pizza Bugs and Fun event scheduled for Saturday, March 3, 2012. The event is global for virtual participants with local venues where ever they are organized. We squashed a lot of bugs last month, but as more people use a new release, we always find more. We'll also have documentation ready to be worked on.
Our goal is to work on coding and testing issues in the CMS Issue Tracker. The coding will obviously require programmers to do, but you don’t need to be able to code to test. You will need to set your computer up to run Joomla locally (for instance, with XAMPP) and be able to apply patches. To do documentation, all you need is a login to the Joomla documentation wiki. If you don't already have one you can register on the site at https://docs.joomla.org. Make sure you register a few days in advance because sometimes the automatic spam filter won't activate you for a few days.
We’ll have a Google doc to keep track of what everyone is working on and a Skype chat to communicate.
The wiki at https://docs.joomla.org/Pizza_Bugs_and_Fun_March_3,_2012 will be used as the central resource for coordinating efforts and accumulating results from this event. Go to that wiki to get the contact information for joining the Skype chat, which you should do before the day of the event. This wiki is also the place to go to to see if anyone is organizing a local party in your area or to list your local party.
Come join the fun!
