Community Portal J!Mint now has come to the last episode, Front-end integration. Let's briefly describe how this integration solution works from the point of view of non-developer users :
- First of all, you have an e-commerce Magento site, but you also want it to have a great CMS functionality ? J!Mint is the solution that integrates one Magento, and one Joomla site. (could be on two different domains)
- Joomla has to be the entry point site. When an user first enters the Joomla site, he'll be granted a Joomla session id. From this point, the user can go back and forth between two sites, and logon/off on either site, he'll automatically get logged-on/off to the other (SSO).
- With this front-end integration, we can grab any module or block of html on a Magento page, and place it in the Joomla site, beside other Joomla modules. With this feature, if you want the Joomla site to have the same look as the Magento, you can do this in 15', for the default Magento template. (see demo site)
- By default, all requests on Joomla site are handled by J!Mint component; however, we can flexibly configure for the component to not handle some of the requests and redirect them back to the Magento site. In the demo site below, you can see when checking out, users are redirected to Magento site.

Note: if you check out, you'll be redirected to the Magento site.. look at the Address Bar to see the difference :D (Magento site is on another domain) Otherwise, it's hard to see it's actually two different sites ^^
