Dee-Ann LeBlanc of CMSWire wrote an excellent article entitled State of the Project Report: Joomla! Web CMS. Please take time to read this well written account of project history.
Dee-Ann - I know you interviewed many people and had a broad range of viewpoints and experiences to reconcile and knit into an accurate historical account. I feel like you did that and treated this project and our community with respect. I appreciate your work.
For those of you who have been around awhile, you know it hasn't been an easy road. I am very proud of everyone who hung in there with the project and kept contributing towards our future. It seems to me good things are happening. I am especially proud of the Joomla! Development Working Group Coordinators, and in particular, of Wilco Jansen, for working so hard to open up Development for others to participate.
If you are a developer looking to get involved in the project, now is the time. Take time to read through Wilco Jansen's Joomla! 1.6 Road map and Update and join an Email list, introduce yourself, and let folks know what you have to offer.
