Invitation to Participate: The 2026 UX Research Study on JED

Rutger, the state University of New JerseyJoomla! ...Because Open Source Matters

UX Study for JED

Practicum project

We are collaborating with the Rutgers Master of Business and Science (MBS) Program to conduct research on the extensions.joomla.org website. The students, all concentrating in User Experience Design (UXD), are completing this project as part of their practicum course.

Their work will focus on Information Architecture, Contextual Inquiry, Usability Testing, and the overall User Experience of extensions.joomla.org. To succeed, they need participation not only from the Joomla community, but also from customers of any website, Joomla-powered websites and web integrators.

You may be invited to:

  • Take part in a brief interview with the students
  • Participate in usability testing (such as heatmap-based testing)
  • Engage in card sorting or tree testing exercises on the current extensions.joomla.org website

Later, once the students develop recommendations, they will conduct additional testing to measure whether their proposed improvements enhance the site’s usability.

Please, fill in the form below to participate in this study and help us create a better extensions.joomla.org site.
