We are happy to announce that the nominations for Group 1 Officer: Outreach have been finalised. The following individuals have proposed their nomination, according to the new Nomination process. Included are their Manifesto and the timeline for the election for their role as well as any recommendations they may have had.

Note: This is election follows the new methodology that provides different timelines based on number and type of candidates.

Joomla needs a new boost, which requires a strong and fluid connection between each Joomla team, revitalizing those that are almost extinct, and helping volunteers better integrate into the community. This requires a key role: the Outreach department. And for this role, Richard seems like an excellent candidate, with whom I have already collaborated successfully. He's a good listener, open-minded, and ready to energize the Joomla community. In my opinion, he is the best choice for today and for the future of Joomla!, which we all want to be bright. -

Election’s timeline and methodology

This election falls under the “New DC/Officer Contested” scenario in which there is more than one candidate.

• Sat 9 Aug 2025 — Recommendations form opens (opens 1 day after manifesto deadline).
• Sat 16 Aug 2025 — Recommendation submission deadline (form open for 7 days).
• Sun 17 Aug 2025 — Recommendations published; community Q&A/digestion week begins.
• Sun 24 Aug 2025 — Ballots sent out (after the 1-week digestion).
• Sun 31 Aug 2025, 23:59 UTC — Ballots close (that’s 00:59 BST, Mon 1 Sep). 
• Mon 1 Sep 2025 — Results announced / handover begins.
• Sun 28 Sep 2025 — Last day of old term (Group 1). Mon 29 Sep 2025 — First day of new term.

Next Steps:

• Recommendations published; community Q&A then in a week's time, voting Ballots for the Outreach elections will be sent to voting parties. 

Notes:

• Team Leaders (Class 2) and Team Members (Class 3) of the interested Department will vote for their Department Coordinator.
