Joomla Day Mongolia 2009

There are many times when one can't help but be impressed by the Joomla! spirit.  On September 29-30, 2009, the great people in the Mongolian Joomla! community will be celebrating their Joomla! pride with their first annual Joomla!Day Mongolia.  One of the most impressive announcements forthcoming at this Joomla!Day:  the showcase of the more than 200 Mongolian government Web sites that have switched successfully to Joomla! Nearly every Mongolian federal government Web site is now running Joomla!

With a huge accomplishment like this, it's time to celebrate!

After two years of hard work, the Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of Mongolia, the Information, Communication Technology and Post Authority, and USAID’s Economic Policy Reform and Competitiveness Project are pleased to present their success at Joomla!Day Mongolia.

Joomla Day Mongolia 2009 LocationThe event will be hosted at the National IT Park, sponsored by the Government of Mongolia, and free of charge.  Already many business leaders, IT professionals, and government workers will be in attendance.  Learn more below about this free event!

Objectives of Joomla!Day Mongolia

  • The national release of Joomla! 1.5 Mongolian lanauge package, sponsored by the Cabinet Secretariat, ICTPA and EPRC/USAID
  • Familiarizing the Mongolian IT market and developers with the philosophy and licensing requirements of open-source software
  • Introduction of Joomla! 1.5 version and demonstration of Mongolian language package
  • Active discussion on distribution and community building of “Joomla! User Group – Mongolia”
