Do More... Testing
Become familiar with the new features being introduced in Joomla! 3.3 and give something back to the community. If you are interested in testing (and we hope you are!) getting involved is very easy.
The Patch Tester is a Joomla extension that allows you to easily apply changes from pull requests. This extension helps Joomla community members to test Joomla CMS bug fixes and features, which is necessary before they are added to new releases.
View the video tutorial here:
Once you have the patch tester installed, its time to test! Filter on the Pull Request ID, apply the patch & follow the test instructions for each item. Make sure you give your feedback on GitHub.
Ready to get started?
We need two of the main features tested. The instructions are the same are as above.
Test Frontend Module Editing
Search for PR No: 2521
Apply the Patch
Add any kind of modules you wish to test (from backend)
Testing instructions for Microdata
Search for PR No: 3252 and Apply the Patch
Make sure you have you have enabled microdata from the administration backend panel (from the previous step).
A Successful test will show you that Google is able to pull semantic data from the page about the content type, Author & ratings.
Ready for more?
The Joomla! Bug Squad is one of the most active teams in the Joomla! development process and is always looking for people (not just developers) that can help with sorting bug reports, coding patches and testing solutions. It’s a great way for increasing your working knowledge of Joomla!, and also a great way to meet new people from all around the world.
You can also help Joomla! development by thanking those involved in the many areas of the process. In the past year, for example, over 1,100 bugs have been fixed by the Bug Squad.
We would like to thank JoomlArt for designing the "Do More" banner for the 3.3 release.
