JConnect API Unleashed!

Finally It is..

After some times of work with elgg and some other external applications(fake applications + web apps from my university friends) I've able to bring the JConnect API with easy to use configurations and with the maximum security. JConnect API allows your application to compatible with JConnect Engine and communicate with it.

Communication model

JConnect API - Communication Model

JConnect API with JConnect engine allows you to set your application to participate in dual way communication as follows.

Joomla Requesting Communication
- allows to do user(bulk)-synchronization
- management tasks of ExApps
ExApp Requesting Communication
- User Synchronization
- Authentication + SSO

Why it's different

You might get feel what's the difference between JConnect API and other API's like Facebook Connect ,Google Friend Connect. There is a big difference between them and JConnect API where JConnect API gives you more capabilities than them. Here it is,

Other API are only front-end API's (query information + logged in user management) but the JConnect API allows you to access both front-end and the back-end of Joomla! And the JConnect API has the Super Administartor access level.
Other API's never(mostly) do not call your methods inside your server. But the JConnect API do so with informing you about some actions...

Arunoda, this looks very promising. I'm looking at taking my Joomla Header and Footer to an affiliate website. It's basically doing the opposite of what JConnect is suppose to do. Do you thing it would be possible to include some code in my template and carry over my Joomla header and footer to an external website and use JConnect to carry over my user's identification to that other website ? My Joomla header and footer couls be PHP include files and the JConnect API would be use to pass my users identification. If you think it would be possible we might be interested in collaborating with you to be able to add this functionnality.

I think you're talking some thing like visual integration..
means although you're on External Application you feel that you are on the Joomla!...

Very impressive! I am following this closely and I hope for the possibility to conect wordpress and mediawiki with joomla and all my dreams have come true!

(and of course i U can't wait just can go with the jconnect API and build it ur-self)
