Happy 4th Birthday to Joomla!
Written by Joomla!
Today, we have great cause to celebrate because Joomla! is four years old!
It takes many of us participating in many different ways to ensure the Joomla! project moves forward and people are successful using Joomla!.
Thanks you to each of you who share Extensions, Joomla! 1.6 Feature Patches, and Bug Patches that strengthen the Joomla! code base.
Thank you for helping in the Joomla! Forums and on social networks, like Twitter. Those who take time to write documentation and blog about Joomla! provide useful resources for learning.
We thank those working in local communities for helping organize Joomla! Users Groups and Joomla! Day Events. Your efforts translating Joomla! make it possible for others to take advantage of the environment in their language.
Thanks to those who help oversee the Joomla! Shop, the Community Web site, forums, Resource Directory, Site Showcase, Extensions Directory, and JoomlaCode repository. The Joomla! Leadership Team, Production Working Group, Community Working Group, and Open Source Matters organization provide necessary foundation for this project to thrive.
It is because of our collective efforts that Joomla! is made available for anyone in the world to use to create Web sites so that they might communicate more effectively with others. Happy 4th Birthday, Joomla!, and thanks to each of you who helped make this possible.

We must pay tribute to the selfless and untiring efforts of the core development team and many others who made Joomla what it is today .Its reputation and success is now acknowledged throughout the world!
And lets also toast to people like Amy Stephen- although I have never met her , I have to admit that she has been a major driving force behind Joomla ( Behind every successful man...oops technology project is a dynamic woman! )
Keep it up.We salute the heroes of Joomla

I have to say it's kind of tacky for a staunch GPL organization to not respect the Attribution CC license of the photo's author when something is plucked from Flickr.
Photo attribution should be a standard practice.

I am so thankful you raised the issue of the missing attribution! I did leave a note with the photo owner thanking them for sharing their work, with a link to this article.
I have no excuse for not attributing the work. It was my intention to do so but it completely slipped my mind. Please do not blame the Joomla! project. I am not a member of the Leadership Team and they are not to blame for my mistake.
I corrected the error, now, and added a link to Baked Creations. It is very important to respect the work of others.
Thanks, again.
Amy

YOU'RE KIDDING RIGHT?!
I only 'met' Joomla last year and I can't quite believe such a comprehensive, flexible and fascinating creation has evolved to such a high standard IN ONLY 4 YEARS!
Makes me wonder what will Joomla and our commmunity have created in another 4 years!?
