About three weeks ago JoomlaCode's back end PostgreSQL database was upgraded from 7.4 to 8.3 - and since then the performance of the entire system has been spectacular. The system is running a lot smoother and so far we've managed to handle more load than we were previously able to do with the old 7.4 version of PostgreSQL. Our maintenance is looking like its going to work a lot better as well resulting in less overall down time for the system. We'll probably end up doing some more work performance wise to get the system better able to handle load. As always, we'd like to thank GForge for supplying the system, Rochen for the hosting and in this instance PostgreSQL for their database system (obviously with many improvements between 7.4 and 8.3!)
