Time rolls on... so are improvements to Joomla! heading toward Joomla! 6.

Joomla 5.3.2 Stable is coming out in a few days on July 8th!

Joomla 5.4.0 Alpha 3 will arrive July 22nd, 2025.

Joomla 6.0 Alpha 3 will also arrive July 22nd, 2025.

The Joomla 5.4 branch is a bridge version.
Its purpose is to help ease the transition to the next major release:
Joomla! 6 which is coming out later in October 2025.

The Joomla Academy and the Google Summer of Code are in full swing right now!

It's a great time to check-in and get excited for future features that will arrive into Joomla! 🔥

I feel privileged to have been invited to attend a Mentor, Mentoree session this past week with one of the talented GSoC students - the Workflow Enhancement project.

I was truly impressed with the very cool capabilities coming to a future version of Joomla! soon...

I can't wait to try it out with a couple of my clients - should make a feature set that is sometimes is a bit complicated to wrap your head around so much simpler to use and understand.

All of GSoC and Joomla Academy projects are going well. 🚀

One of the 4 is already finished based on the project requirement and is in testing. It is really exciting the work and new capabilities coming out of these projects!

I want to take a moment to thank everyone involved: the mentors, the students, the sponsors and the community at large for such great initiatives.

Talking about Joomla Academy more specifically for a moment, did you know that the 2nd cohort applications are open? that's right!

The application period for the 2nd cohort (which will start in October 2025) is open from July 1st to August 15th - learn all about it here.

J.U.G. (Joomla User Group) whether in-person, online or hybrid are get togethers with great opportunities to meet fellow Joomla users and enthusiasts, network and get your questions answered... and have some fun as well!

There is a JUG Leadership Meeting open to anyone that runs a JUG or wants to start one...

The meeting will be tomorrow July 8th, 15:00 UTC.
