Learn more about Rachel
"Rachel her communications skills are great and combined with her marketing experience including the Joomla Marketing Netherlands she is the perfect fit in my opinion to coordinate the Marketing & Communications department." (Wilco Alsemgeest)
"Rachel is heavily active in the Dutch Community and heads up their marketing. She has both the skill set needed for the position and community knowledge. She would be an excellent candidate for this role.
I have nominated two worthy candidates for this role and hope, no matter who wins this election that they will both work together to give Joomla the marketing attention and expertise it truly deserves." (Rowan Hoskyns Abrahall)
Statement from the nominee:
Why I should be the next Marketing & Communications Coordinator.
Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Rachel, I’m 46 years old mother of 2 children (20 and 18) and happily married. I live in Duiven, a small town in the east of the Netherlands (near the German border). In my spare time I love to sing in a pop choir, I walk and try to get to the gym every now and then.
I’ve been working with Joomla! since it was Mambo. In 2002 I started my business as a web designer. At present I’m the proud owner of a one-woman Webdesign company and a full-service marketing agency together with a partner. Joomla has given me so much through the years, now it’s time for me to give something back.
As a generalist I have (some) knowledge of a lot of different aspects of marketing & communication. This makes me a good coordinator; I know enough to keep the oversight and to guide people in the right direction, but I don’t now so much that (I think) I know it better.
I can get along with almost anyone and I am not afraid to voice my opinion, nor am I too stubborn to admit when I’m wrong (which does happen every once in a while).
As I said I would love to have this opportunity to do something for both the community and the project and will, when elected, give you my best.
