Hundreds of remarkable community members will join the second Joomla! World Conference (JWC) that will be held on November 8-10, 2013 in Boston, Massachusetts (USA). Unfortunately not everyone will be able to attend this great event. For some, the reason will be because of lack of time, for others it will be because of too high travel and accommodation costs. We are unfortunately not able to donate more time to individuals, but we would like to try to provide financial help to those people who cannot afford to attend this conference.
The Joomla! Leadership Team is happy to announce a limited Scholarship programme to enable individuals to attend, who would not have been able to afford to do so, without financial assistance. The Scholarship will not only benefit the recipient but also the wider Joomla! community. These scholarships cover the cost of conference admission and provide assistance with travel and lodging.
We of course respect your privacy and so all applications are made in the strictest confidence.
Applications can be filled by the interested person but also community members can fill the application nominating a candidate.
Anyone is able to apply for a Scholarship but please consider if your attendance is dependent solely on receiving a Scholarship. Scholarships are not to be seen as either rewards or incentives but are based purely on a need for financial assistance.
Each application will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and judged on its own merit and not in comparison to any other application. As the number of scholarships and the amount of money in the scholarship fund is limited the following factors will be taken into account:
- current involvement in the Joomla community (either local or global)
- the potential benefit to the recipient
- the potential benefit to the Joomla community (either local or global)
The deadline for application is September 14th and all applicants will be notified by September 29th.
