We are happy to announce that the nominations for Group 2 Officers and Department Coordinators have been finalised. The following individuals have proposed their nominations, according to the new Nomination process. Included are their Manifestos and the timeline for the election for their role.

This election falls under the “Contested DC/Officer” scenario in which there are the current Officer and another candidate who would be new in such a role.

  • February 1, 2020 - Full list of candidates and manifestos published. Recommendations form opened.
  • February 8, 2020 - Recommendations submission deadline.
  • February 9, 2020 - Recommendations published.
  • February 16, 2020 - Ballots sent out.
  • February 23, 2020 - Ballots close.
  • February 24, 2020 - Results announced. 4 week handover period begins.
  • March 24, 2020 - First day of New Term.

Secretary

Being the current Officer the sole candidate, there will not be the recommendation phase and the Election Ballots will be sent out right after the announcement.

This election falls under the “Same DC/Officer Uncontested” scenario in which there is only one candidate and is already holding the office for which is a candidate. This is the expedite method.

  • February 1, 2020 - Existing DC/Officer declared as sole candidate. Manifesto published and ballots sent out.
  • February 8, 2020 - Ballots close.
  • February 9, 2020 - Results announced.
  • March 24, 2020 - First day of New Term.

Communication Channels

Election channels will be opened in Glip for each role. These channels will allow department/community members to ask candidates questions regarding their manifestos in order to help them decide who to vote for.

Next Steps:

  • Voting Ballots for the Secretary election will be sent to voting parties today. As per the Bylaws all Members (Class 3), Team Leaders (Class 2), Department Coordinators and Officers (Class 1) have the right to vote in the Officer's elections.
  • Recommendations form for all the other roles (either Contested and Uncontested) are open until February 08, 2020.
  • Voting Ballots for Department Coordinators will be going out to Team Members under the 3 departments involved to vote for their Department Coordinator on February 09, 2020.

According to the Bylaws (link below), existing Officers also vote for new Officer roles.
