Labor, stability and selfless work - Ugur Uygur
I know Phil since many years in person and in different roles in the Joomla Community. He is extremely friendly, supportive and reliable and if Joomla in the last months has got an increasing market share, it is to a large extent his merit.
In a nutshell: - Outstanding commnication skills - Strategic thinking enables him to support our president - As a Joomla enthousiast he can inspire the community - Wherever he participates, he is higly respected - Always supportive and versatile A dream candidate for the role as vice president for OSM. - Christiane Maier-Stadtherr
I got to work the first time with Phil when I was organizing a PBF event a few years ago and was looking for a native English speaker to translate the website.
From that moment on Phil was part of my Joomla! journey all day long, working together when I was Release Lead for Joomla! 4.1, was supporting me when I run for Production Department Coordinator and over time we developed a deep friendship beyond Joomla.
I know Phil as an extremly reliable, supportive and skilled person. He has Joomla in his heart, always asking himself: What is best for Joomla?
He took over the marketing department, when there was nearly no marketing department at all. And I think he would agree when I say at that moment he wasn't a marketing person at all. But, oh my days, he did an amazing job. Not only reviving the whole department but also set up many working teams and structures, recruiting people, teaching people and doing that while still being supportive to all the other departments and people.
Now imagine what he can do, when he is perfect for a job and now we're talking vice president role. The vice president role is designed to support (and relieve from daily work) the president and also the officers and building strong ties to the community. Both requirements he passes with flying colours. That's exactly what he did for the past years and I can't imagine any better person for this position. I think, after leaving a efectivly running machine with marketing becoming vice president is the next logical step for Phil and Joomla + its community will benefit big time from it.
So I can only recommend to give Phil your vote, he is the perfect person for this position. - Benjamin Trenkle
Supportive, curious, encouraging, interested in other people, resourceful, committed, open-minded, involved and passionate about Joomla.
These are words that come to mind when I think of our ideal Vice President.
And these are also the words characterizing Philip. In the years he’s been my chief (the Joomla Community Magazine falls under Outreach), he’s been the best chief I could ever imagine.
He listens, motivates, encourages, helps out when needed and has great ideas. He has managed to make the Outreach Department grow, push the message out and stop the downfall of Joomla’s market share. The beautiful part of this is that he acknowledges he didn’t do that on his own. He recognizes skills in people and is very good at helping them find their place in the Joomlasphere.
With Philip as VP, I think we can really move Joomla forward towards an amazing future. - Anja de Crom
Joomla needs to attract users of the new generation, we will need to introduce Joomla 5 and soon Joomla 6, and there must be a change in the way Joomla is presented...
Mr. Philip Walton has a long history of activity and is the most relevant person to introduce Joomla, he works and supervises in several teams, and this is a good point for synchronizing between teams to pursue a goal. - Alireza Javaherian
Worked together with Phil in different situations, he is a great person to work with. He is very clear with his position and sends understandable messages. A perfect fit for the role as Vice President. - Robert Deutz

Recommendations for Louise|closed
Having only known Louise for a short time, she has made quite an impression. Taking over the marketing team as lead has given the whole Joomla! marketing a huge boost. From the first moment I contacted her she was extremely supportive, showed great communication skills and was full of good ideas which she implemented effortlessly.
I think Joomla! marketing and public relations in general will go to the next level with Louise as public relations coordinator. - Benjamin Trenkle
Louise is a born marketer, has a great working manor and is full of energy. Since joining the marketing team she has helped to expand its members and areas of work. Since taking over the marketing team Louise has made significant changes to the way the team works to its advantage. Louise naturally gets on with people and would be the ideal Department Coordinator for Outreach. I particularly like the way Louise seeks out others when she needs help and is able to bring people onboard. I know the work involved in being Outreach DC and I know that Louise will be able to make the departments work better and more efficiently than I could ever with her natural flair and talent for marketing. Joomla will be in a better place if we all give Louise the support and help she needs. - Philip Walton

Production Department Coordinator

Recommendations for Sigrid|closed
I know Sigrid not only as team lead of the CMS Release Team where I am mamber, but also in person from many Joomla Events.
Sigrid has proven her skills as leader in the CMS Release Team for several years and is at the heart of the whole production process.
She is a very friendly and supportive person, highgly respected by everyone and known for her dedication to Joomla. She uses to work effectively and efficiently, and with her networking and communication skills she will be able to weld together the different teams in production. - Christiane Maier-Stadtherr
Looking back over the past few years and seeing what Sigrid has done for Joomla, becoming the Production Department Coordinator is the logical step for her and a huge win for Joomla!
I started working with Sigrid as the Joomla 4.1 release lead, I had no idea. So together with Sigrid, who was also quite new in her Release Team Lead role, we tried to define and write down some best practices. Under Sigrid's leadership, many new processes and schedules were defined to make releases more reliable and predictable. In addition, she was one of the main drivers for the so-called "post-release process" to have a quick action list of steps to take when a release has problems. All of this happened while she was helping me and many other release leads/managers to get into their jobs and manage a team with all the testing of releases.
After some wild years, Joomla! development needs to calm down, become more structured and defined processes need to be improved and hardened. I can't think of anyone better than Sigrid to lead Joomla! through these challenges. - Benjamin Trenkle
She has made an execelent job as team lead and I am 100% sure she will be great as department coordinator. She is hard working and reliable. I know her for a longer time and she was on my very short list of candidates for the DC Production number 1. - Robert Deutz
I have known Sigrid many years through the CMS release team.
I asked her to be my assistant lead and then on leaving, Sigrid became the lead.
Her devotion to detail and clear logical thinking has mean the team has become more structured and the process refined and developed to the point that it is one of the main drivers of quality in the Joomla community.
It is through Sigrid's leadership that the releases are put out on time and with the minimum of issues.
When unexpected things do happen as is inevitable in such a large project, Sigrid has developed the stills and systems to deal with these issues quickly and effectively.
I can think of no better candidate to take over from Benjamin and drive the whole production department forward.
Sigrid will make an excellent Production DC and with the help of the community behind her Joomla will make new gains and achieve more growth over her period in office. - Philip Walton
