Joomla Group 1 Elections - Nominee Announcement 2026

We are happy to announce that the nominations for Group 1 Officers and Department Coordinators have been finalised. The following individuals have proposed their nominations, according to the new Nomination process. Included are their Manifestos and the timeline for the election for their role. All candidates are current Board members and are running uncontested.

Recommend candidates

As the current Officer and sole candidate, no recommendation phase will be held, and Election Ballots will be sent out immediately following the announcement.

Election’s timeline and methodology (all candidates)

This election falls under the “New DC/Officer Uncontested” scenario in which there is only one sitting candidate per position. The events below are listed by established date along with (actual date) each one occurred or will occur.

7 Aug 2026 - Manifesto submission deadline.
8 Aug 2026 (11 Aug) - Existing DC(s)/Officer(s) declared as sole candidate per position.
8 Aug 2026 (17 Aug) - Ballots sent out.
15 Aug 2026 (24 Aug) - Ballots close.
16 Aug 2026 (25 Aug) - Results announced.
28 Sep 2026 - Last day of old term.
29 Sep 2026 - First day of new term.

Next Steps:

Voting Ballots for the Vice President and Treasurer elections will be sent to voting parties. As per the Bylaws, all Members (Class 3), Team Leaders (Class 2), Department Coordinators and Officers (Class 1) have the right to vote in the Officers' elections.

According to the Bylaws (link below), existing Officers also vote for new Officer roles.
