PROCESS FOR OFFICER ELECTIONS

Each Department Coordinator and Team Leader will cast one (1) vote each for each Officer Position. These votes will be tallied within each department and the results of this tally will serve as the Department’s vote for the officer.

Additionally each existing Officer (President, Secretary & Treasurer) will also cast one (1) vote for each Position. No vote will be casted by the Vice President as the role is currently vacant.

The three (3) Officer votes will be added to the department votes and the candidate with the most votes for the position will be duly elected.

It is a good idea for all nominees to familiarize themselves with the Bylaws especially the sections relating to the Vice President role: https://opensourcematters.org/images/documents/20-10-2016-OSM-ByLaws.pdf

To nominate yourself or someone else, please use the following form:

Nominations will be accepted until May 9th, 2018 at 23:59 GMT.
Over the following week, we will reach out to those who were nominated by someone other than himself/herself to ensure they are interested. Approximately one week after nomination submissions are closed, we will send the Team Leads, Department Coordinators and Officers a ballot (using an anonymous voting system) to vote for the Officer replacement. Voters will then have 7 days to place their votes.

Thank you to everyone involved in this great community.
