When a longstanding friend leaves us, at first the pain is overwhelming and then speechlessness and shock fills the room. Today is a such a day.

Thomas Kahl who worked with us all for Open Source and the community, since the days of Mambo, has left us. Way too early! Thomas was, for many, a friend, and a very special person. Thomas was passionate about Joomla and this lead to heated debates and was sometimes not easy, he has challenged and enriched all our lives in a positive way.

We remember the beautiful moments we spent together, talking, arguing and laughing through the day and into the night, about Mambo, Joomla and God.

In the technological era, we often forget that life is all about personal relationships and shared experiences. It is still incomprehensible that we will no longer be able to add new ones to these memories.

We will miss you.
