Team Blogs
We are now using the Community Blog.
There are a number of teams working within the Joomla Project and each is dedicated to growing Joomla in specific ways. Also known as Working Groups, these teams are focused on the following areas:
Communications Team
The Communications Team is responsible for areas related to interacting with the community and getting the word out about Joomla. They also handle Project announcements, the Community Magazine, press interaction, and design matters.
Core Team
Joomla is led by members of the Core Team who are responsible for overall project management. Working together as a single team, they are all committed to moving Joomla forward in the true spirit of the open source movement. Core Team members come from different backgrounds and have a diverse array of disciplines. The Core Team is also a truly global group with members located in many countries all over the world. A current list of Core Team members is here.
Developer Team
The Development Working Group, consisting of the Developer Team and the Joomla Bug Squad (JBS), is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Joomla Framework and Joomla CMS. The Developer Team focuses on the creation of new releases and the JBS focuses on addressing issues in current releases, inlcuding testing and bug fixing in the final period prior to a new stable release.
Documentation Team
The Documentation Working Group is responsible for creating and maintaining all the official Joomla documentation—including that for end-users, administrators and third-party developers. The team also maintains the help screens for the Joomla releases.
Forum Moderators/Sites & Infrastructure Team
A diverse team of dedicated individuals keep the forum organized, friendly and informative—they make up the Forum Moderator Team. In their blog posts, forum team members discuss happenings around the forum as well as topics that enhance the forum experience. A complete list of forum moderators is here.
JED Editors
The editors who maintain the Joomla Extensions Directory keep track of a vast array of third-party contributions and the reviews of those contributions. Daily tasks and overall philosophies are discussed in their blog along with tips on how to get the most out of this essential resource.
Open Source Matters
While not really a team within the Joomla Project, Open Source Matters is the non-profit organization that manages the legal, financial, and administrative aspects of the Joomla Project. A complete list of OSM board members is here.
Translation Team
The purpose of the Translation Working Group is to be a liaison between the international community and the other Joomla teams on user and technical matters relating to the translation of the Joomla application. More than 50 local language coordinators represent their local teams in the Translation Working Group. Leaders of the translation work group blog about the translation process, the thinking behind the Joomla approach to internationalisation, and the activities of the team.
