Site Profile

Description: "Alpha and Omega" is a Christian youth society located in Ukraine and USA, and the site contains news, plans, projects, sermons, articles, TV programs, photo gallery and a discussion forum. The contents is served in two languages - Russian and English.Case Study: The site needed to be a representation of the "Alpha and Omega", and also a gathering point for the members of the society from all over the world.

As a result, the main challenge of the site was to have it contain many various modules (gallery, forum, etc) and have it multilingual at the same time. Also, the site needed to be unique, so a custom template was developed from scratch, based on a design by one of the society members.

Main components / modules used which enabled the site to reach its goal:
1. JoomFish! was used to enable Russian and English.
2. DisplayNews was used to have several blog-like sections display on the main page ("Events" and "Articles", the original plan had more sections, yet they eventually got replaced by forum and gallery activity modules).
3. Gallery2 was used, with Gallery 2 Bridge as the integrating component.
4. phpBB with JFusion was used for the forum.
5. XMap was used for the site map.
