Typically most landowners go about their day-to-day routines and passively enjoy their woods. Like other things in life, it is often not until a trigger forces a decision about the sale of timber or land that you need to make an informed decision. MassWoods.net was developed to help landowners at these critical decision making times.Case Study: The MassWoods site is an expansive portal site providing information about Massachusetts laws for conservation, preservation, logging, forester licensing, and more. The site features RS Forms for the stumpage report form and MyBlog for the monthly update feature. A completely custom template was written for the site.
A custom component was written by Bill Tomczak of Grumpy Engineering for "find a local professional". This database allows the user to find specific resources about land conservation and foresters within their specific local area. This database is shared between this site and www.massacorn.net, so there's a single data entry point although multiple sites can draw from the database.
