The site needed to be fast loading.
We used Alledia.com's Bolt Template as it is a very fast and light wait template. I had to add a module position, which took all of 5 minutes as their code is super clean and lightweight.
Joomlaworks was approached for their in content tabbing extension. It was chosen over others because it was lightweight and loaded the quickest. Called Tabs and Slides.
RSS feeds were pulled in using the RSS feed for Joomla! 1.5 extension.
The iframes has no special extension and worked with regular HTML code.
I am using JomComment for my commenting solution but may change this to something that loads faster.
I am using Googlemaps extension for the google maps.
I am using JoomlaGATor for my analytics solution.
Using Joomlapack for my backup solution.
I am using several great components from RedComponents.com in order to create the searching database including REDArticleFinder, RED Linker, REDtagsearch, and REDTAGLINKER.
I am using Very Simple Image Gallery PLugin for the slideshow as it is predictable, aesthetic and light weight.
In order to keep the template I am using Content Templater which is awesome!
I am using a READMORE Extension to replace the Joomla Core Read more as I needed to hide them at different points on the site and individually style them as well.
Lastly, I am using sh404ef for by SEF URLs.
