Description: The Sirowaw Portal primarily provides information about Tramping (hiking) in New Zealand. It displays maps of both island's main tramping areas and provides links to sites providing additional information.
This site also provides links to and information about various New Zealand based Outdoor websites.Case Study: Having collected a large image portfolio whilst tramping in New Zealand and Overseas Peter needed to provide an efficient way of organising and viewing these images.
After reviewing a number of different Content Management Systems Joomla came out ahead for its ease of use and active Extensions community. Before long additional content was added extending the sites Portal capabilities.

This is an excellent site - it's a one-stop-shop for tramping/hiking information in New Zealand. The site is very informative, offering both links to other outdoor websites, as well as personal observations, trip reports and photo galleries. It's very easy to navigate and there's excellent use of extensions. A lot of work has gone in with things like the image-maps. It's a very professional, well-presented site. Well done!
