Description: Skul`Shock is a gaming community that has been around since March of 2006. Skul`Shock has it's foundation in Half Life 2: Deathmatch, but has ventured into other games including: Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike: Source, Left 4 Dead, and Dystopia. We are an all inclusive gaming community with no membership. We strive to excel in positive attributes, particularly community fellowship. Many of our players have grew extensive relationships and great friendships.Case Study: From March 2006 to March of 2008, there were only phpbb forums for this gaming community. I took over the set of servers and started designing a joomla 1.5 site. It enlists a Rocket Theme template with graphic and module customizations. It also enlists a multitude of extensions. We wanted to keep our forums, so we also integrated a bridge called Jfusion. We have other extensions including, ChronoForms, Community Builder, Docman, Frontpage Slideshow, JCal Pro, Joomfish, and JoomGallery. Since the creation of our site, our registered members have increased from 200 (Achieved from Mar 2006 - Mar 2008) to over 700 (April 2008 - present). We have grown to be the most popular Hl2:DM servers in the U.S. Our site hosts reviews and articles on popular gaming products, information on our servers, and a multitude of ways for our members to interact with each other and the information. Joomla has been a really monumental stepping stone in the growth of our community.
It appears this is a successful forum community. Using a rocket theme template i think the forum could be integrated a bit better visually with one of their templates correlating to the current one.
I feel like gaming community sites often neglect the value of aesthetic appeal contributing to further activity on the site.
