Description: Ultrasonica.it is an italian Independent Music Portal starts on 2004. After seven years of activity, Ultrasonica.it switch to Joomla and come with a new interface and new service.
Focused on musical news and events, Ultrasonica.it has the largest thematic photo gallery in Italy. Over 5000 live photos from concert, festival and backstage.
Another strong point is the TIMERETURNS section, a custom component with over 9000 music events and birthdays with photos, videos and a robust tagging system for automatic events relations.Case Study: In the beginning the site was only in HTML (2004), then the complexity, the site was redesigned with the Xoops CMS and now (2011) has been redesigned using Joomla.
It 'was necessary to make a port of the images from the old galery system (Xoops - MyAlbum) to new (Joomla - Datso Gallery)
Furthermore, it was necessary to convert 9000 TIMERETURNS events from the old system (which included only the date and description) to the new one that includes the title, date, description, category, image, video and tags.
There are visible only events that daily update to the new system (the old data is still in the database).
