The Site has a section for patients, with its own menu. So they can inform themselves about vein diseases (glossary, etc). With the help of an online questionnaire visitors can determine their risk of suffering in the future from vein diseases.
It has a regularly updated congress schedule that list phebological orientated events, national as well as international.
The site has also an international (english) section. Just some of the texts are translated into english, e.g. the congress calendar.Case Study: The Site is the relaunch of a former Joomla 1.0 installation. As the support for that version expires this summer the German Society of Phlebology wanted a migration to the 1.5 version.
As the former site grew immensely over the past 3 years, the structure and navigation had to rebuild from scratch.
The old URLs forward to the new links, so that external links do not get a 404.
The template was developed exclusively for the DGP and is based on XHTML and CSS2.0
The migration to 1.5 and the Template development took quite a while and I hope that it finds the approval of the community.
