Description: Pi Sigma Chi is a local social fraternity only located at Pratt Institute's Brooklyn Campus. We offer our members a diverse college experience, while bringing a sense of family to a group of individuals. Check out the site (sorry registration is only available for fraternity members). We are trying out Joomla to bring the best user experience to our guests and members.Case Study: We chose Joomla when looking for an alternative to using Windows Sharepoint Server because it was way too costly. We found Joomla and Drupal, and although I used Drupal first to test I didn't like its features, Joomla seemed far more user friendly (even as an admin).

Our goal was to create a site that could bee used to connect our current members and alumni members where we could share information privately yet still in a very accessible manner. We didn't want to have a website with several separate logins because we were using phpBB for a forum, and Gallery2 for photos, etc. We needed a central login to control our private mailing list subscription, galleries, documents, forums, etc. As an added bonus we were able to have any member write content for the site so that the burden is not reliant on one person to keep updated. Joomla is a great tool and has much potential to shape the way users create websites in the future.
