Description: Dearborn Public Schools is a K-12 school district serving the needs of a diverse and growing community in Dearborn, Michigan. The Dearborn School district includes the entire city of Dearborn and a small portion of Dearborn Heights. In terms of enrollment, our district is the fifth largest in the state with slightly more than 18,000 students.
Elementary schools provide instruction for grades kindergarten through 5, middle schools serve grades 6 through 8, and the district's three high schools provide instruction for students in grades 9 through 12. The district also operates an Early Childhood program, Adult and Community Education program, a variety of preschool and before- and after-school programs.
All Dearborn Schools are accredited by the North Central Association for school accreditation.Case Study: In order to better serve our community, the district decided to make the switch to using a content management system so that managing the website would allow for quick and easy updates. As our list of needs and features grew, it became apparent that the Joomla CMS, with it's active community and wide array of extensions, would be a good fit for our new website.

It took about 3 weeks to get the content from the old website into the new Joomla website. The biggest benefit to our community was the structure and consistency of the menus and content. When you add that to an attractive Joomla theme you end up with a winning combination of style, structure, and content.
