Our management belief is that an equity involved franchisee is very responsive to the needs of the guest. As of September 30, 2009, there were 1,433 IHOP restaurants located in 50 states, Canada and Mexico.

I agree they could use a newer version but then again it's not an easy task just moving over. With that said I am pleased such a large place would use Joomla as it's base. They could have decided not to use it at all.

It's great that such a known name is using Joomla!, but it would be nice if the complex functionality was built in Joomla. For instance the store locator is built in what seems to be .NET and the restaurant menu is built in Flash (of course the Flash menu might be pulling in data from Joomla, but with the external store locator I have to question)
It's also disappointing to see that it's still Joomla! 1.0, all tables in the mark-up, no SEF urls and not really optimized overall.
Honestly I don't think this site deserves "Site of the Month" status.
