The Design Brief - A Social Media Website
Being technologically capable by way of Internet mobile phone use and Twitter, the client wanted a website to take advantage of future social media opportunities.
Using SMS for the last 10 years as a way of securing reliable work, the main purpose of this website was to allow his clients to access his site and instantly know when he is available. At times he found he lost work due to being uncontactable by mobile phone, this allows his clients to instantly know of his work schedule and email him to secure a starting date.
When quoting for private concreting jobs he wanted a clear and simple domain name conc.com.au to advertise with and to put on his business cards. When quoting a concreting job he required the ability for the prospective client to be able to instantly check his trade credentials. He wanted something to the point, without bells and whistles, to give clients the impression he was on top of his game and more efficient than his competitors. Lets face it how many concretors have their own website with this type of social media communication points?
Project constraints
To keep it looking simple and tradesman like while underneath having the potential to keep up with new web technologies. Something different from the run of the mill, mass produced thousand dollar sites that all his competitors have. I don't call that a constraint, I call that a breathe of fresh air in a web world where most clients want to copy each other.
Required technical standard
The entire site is XHTML 1.0 Transitional to W3C standards and powered by a Joomla content management system.
Project budget
The projected budget was $1,800.00 however domain name, hosting and search engine optimisation were completed for an additional fee of $400.00
Time Frame
This style of website took a total of 36 hours of chargeable labour time.

* Search engine rankings: Number 1 page rankings were obtained with Google using keywords associated with his area: concretor Gympie and Concreting Gympie Overall the site has 25 indexed pages out of a possible 25 indexed by the major search engines.
* Customer/client/stakeholder enquires: The client reports growing enquiries through Google, Yahoo and Bing organic search engines results. He also reports winning all the quotes generated by his website. Mission completed!
