The Joomla! Community Showcase ™

Site Profile

Description: The Roadster Shop creates some of the best hot rods, muscle cars, and chassis in the industry. They wanted a website that would show off their work while making day-to-day business quicker and easier. Paper Tower made the site easy to update with photos and projects, incorporating a clean and polished design to reflect the company’s product. Features like a “build your own chassis” form generate real-time price quotes and save time and customer calls, keeping the guys out of the office and in the garage.Case Study: The site was built using Joomla 1.5.9 and a customized version of VirtueMart. The template was designed in Photoshop CS4 and the Flash slideshow and photo galleries were programmed in Flash CS4. Numerous custom modules were created for the project. With a Joomla powered site, Roadster Shop can now easily maintain their site with ease.

love the look of the sight just wish that in your galleries that your individual images showed up in a light box in which i could navigate through instead of flicking back and forward.

Terrific looking site, very functional, and nice hot rods to boot! :)

How did you do the photo galleries of the vehicles if you don't mind me asking?

I really like the edgy design and terrific execution of the site! Can you let me know what have you used for the gallery section?

Grate Mix of ideas and technique
Thanks for the comments. For the events module we used EventList by Schlu.net. We customized the front end of the module a little bit to fit with design of the site and added the accordion to save space, but those were pretty minor changes. For the menu system we simply used the built in menu system. For the sub menus we simply made separate menus and used php to check which category the user is currently in.

What i most like about the site is that its executed very well. What i mean is that it is not over-loaded with lots of contents. Generally peoples put lots of content in one page.

BUT really this site has been done very well.

Well Done!!
Best of Luck for the future.
Hope to see some more sites from you soon.

Very nice job and great attention to detail! We need more Joomla! sites like this to bring Joomla! into the design world. If more designers realized how powerful the templating system is... well you see where I'm going. It's great sites like this one that will help.

Again, well done.
