Hi there
A really great site - and great content!!!
I am particularly impressed with how you have worked the galleries.
You say ypu have edited rs2 gallery. I would like to try the same but not sure where to start

first off the parth gallery does not seem to work.

if i am editing the gallery what the best way to go about it . any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Mick
Owner's reply

Hi Mick,
What do you mean with "parth gallery"?
I would NOT use RSGallery2 anymore, the development of the component seemed to go nowhere and the backend management simply sux. It might be better now though.

I like the simplicity and the creativity in it. It shows how good a Joomla site can look even without stripping its functionality. Good work!

Thank you!

So impressive! If you don't mind, which viewer are you using for the front page display.

Thanks for your time and consideration

Hi Louie,
not sure what you mean with "front page display".

Very nice ... did you make your own template?
Owner's reply

Yes, the template is actually fairly simple. The Javascript for the gallery was more challenging.

Very clean, perfect for bw photos
I love the slick sliding photo viewer on the right. Have yet to see an Extension quite like that. Congrats on an awesome site.
Owner's reply

Thank you, I haven't gotten round to packaging it as an extension of sorts - not sure I shall ever be ... probably when I have to update it would be the right time.

Is there a way I can use this gallery template?
The layout and the content are so beautiful.
Congrats

Thank you.

That is a terrific example of great design using Joomla. I am so impressed.

I am starting ideas for a folio site for an artist at the moment, and looking at gallery options right now... that don't have too much visual guff on them. Do you recommend a gallery that you have found works well if RSGallery isn't quite right?

Cheers

Thank you for your compliment! I haven't had the nerve or time to redo the site but I would probably look at MorfeoShow or Phoca Gallery. On the site the photographer can add a description to every image which is then used in the meta description by the way (this is in order to increase the search engine ratings).

Brilliantly made site for a wonderfully talented photographer! The capabilities of Joomla are clearly vast, but does something like this require a lot of custom programming to strip out a lot of the 'regular' Joomla functionality? Such creative inspiration here, but a Joomla 1.5 installation with RSGallery2 is a LONG way from looking anything like this... very interested in the process if you have any tips to share! Thank you and good luck!
Owner's reply

Thank you for the compliment - I shall convey the ones to the photographer. I did not strip out any standard Joomla functionality. The customisation of RSGallery2 did take quite some time, as I override the complete templating function and am only using it's backend capabilities (I would not use RSGallery anymore though). Should you have anymore questions, feel free to contact me.

looks clean and professional - just like portfolio should look like

Doesn't even look like Joomla. This is the kind of site I would like to have as a portfolio site. Good work!
Owner's reply

Thank you. I don't like the way that many Joomla sites look pretty much the same - it makes the internet boring ;)
