CMS Market Share Report - Joomla! in Top 3

Positive Impact
by Andrew Eddie

Good analytics are hard to come by and are time consuming to collect. Nevertheless, Ric Shreves of Water and Stone has complied a paper entitled Open Source CMS Market Share which analyses 19 of the most prominent Open Source Content Management Systems. In this paper, Shreves identifies three systems that, in his words, dominate the present market. These systems are Wordpress, our own Joomla! and Drupal.

Joomla! 1.5 Web site Sarah Verroken Award Winning Illustrator and Author

Sarah shares her creative process that results in captivating design
by Sarah Verroken
Sarah Verroken

The saga started a year ago, on some wet morning in New Zealand. Being a designer is one thing, getting the designs out there is another. The quest for Internet exposure began and bundling my works on a personal website seemed a good idea. But wait, let me introduce you to my world, where design and illustrations are more real than wet mornings, where raindrops inspire instead of irritate.

Empowering Joomla! Developers with Knowledge

And a call to arms for veteran Joomla! developers
by Andrew Eddie

Given enough time, that "ahha" moment eventually comes. The penny drops. The jigsaw puzzle starts to take shape. I clearly remember when I "got" MVC (Model View Controller) theory and realised my folly at being staunchly opposed to it. The same can be said for documentation and, in particular, developer documentation. It's a daunting task to work out how to organise hundreds of pages of information just about how you write code to work in Joomla!.

Joomla! 1.5 Web site Per André Rønsen Soul Kids

Per André Rønsen combines creative talents in theology, music, and design with Soul Kids!
by Per André Rønsen

Soul Kids

The design obviously needed to communicate to the parents. At the same time, I wanted to demonstrate that this is not the typical children’s choir; this is an urban, up-to-date group doing modern RnB, Hip hop and break dance. If a mother asks her son if he’s interested in joining, and he’s not convinced, she can go: "Look here, it actually looks like something you would like!" At least, that was the goal.

A thoughtful perspective on participation
by Alan Langford

What is really satisfying is getting sufficiently involved in a project to be able to have a direct influence on it, as I am with "Joomla!". It's great to be able to identify a minor irritation, to fix it, and to get it to a production release.
