Development

Joomla! is developed using a collaborative open source model. Community members contribute to Joomla! development in many ways including submitting issue reports and patches, participating in initiatives, such as the writing of white papers, participating in community events such as Pizza, Bugs, and Fun weekends, mentoring students, and creating and sharing GPL code using joomlacode.org.

Development Working Group

The Development Working Group is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Joomla! Framework and Joomla! CMS. It consists of two teams, the Developer Team and the Joomla! Bug Squad. The developer team focuses on the creation of new releases, while the JBS focuses on addressing issues in current releases and testing and bug fixing in the final period prior to a new stable release.
