Over the weekend of January 17-19, 2020, a group of Joomla enthusiasts from around the world were invited to participate in the Joomla Forum For The Future, in Marbella, Spain. Under the guidance of several facilitators invitees were tasked with envisioning the path forward for Joomla under four broad streams - Market, Community Re-engagement and Re-igniting, Technology, and Professionalism.

Elections for the Board of Open Source Matters, Inc. occur twice a year at 6 monthly intervals to ensure continuity of the board by electing half the members in each cycle.
According to the new Nomination and Election Process voted by the Members of Open Source Matters, Inc. and published here, The Secretary has to publish a Call for Manifestos from Candidates who are interested in running as Candidates for the Election as Officers and Department Coordinators of Open Source Matters, Inc.

Since the transition of Leadership Structure at the beginning of 2017, the board has taken steps to improve the voting process that was initially put in place.
The first improvement was anonymous voting using Adoodle. Preventing any influencing or recrimination over voting which had been an issue when voting was carried out through public lists.

It is this time of the year! The Joomla Project will apply to Google to participate in this year’s Google Summer of Code™ (GSoC) program.
Now, we need help from our community and beyond! We are looking for talented individuals who are willing to work with students and guide them.

GSoC (Google Summer of Code) is an annual international program created by Google to bring more students to open-source software development. Students work with the open-source organization for three months while meeting the deadlines agreed upon with their mentors, and students receive a considerable stipend depending upon the country.
