  1. Looks promising - Will make a real difference - Bring it on!
  2. Sounds like its making great progress, on an exciting project. Would love to see some of this make it into the J1.6 core.
  3. One step to convert joomla in web 3.0 !
  4. Is this in consideration for 1.6 core? I would love it to be in core as this in combination with the new ACL would make drupal a moot point for me. Also, if it were core, I imagine other components could then hook into it and tag other forms of content.

  5. While theoretically and intellectually interesting, can you provide the layman some real-world examples of how having this sort of taxonomic freedom would play out in the representation of data to a user visiting your site, beyond view-by-taxonomic aggregation pages and search refinement?
  6. Nice job so far! :)
  7. Agree with you zachariah. Would be great if implemented into the core of Joomla. Great project! One of the best and important too!

  10. Hi All,

Thank you for all the support.. RC1 is now out and more details can be found at http://theebgar.net/tag/taxonomy/

Further efforts are being taken to incorporate this into Joomla! 1.6 core.

Ya there are many possible applications, even at this stage we are trying to provide as many as possible, and one you can find in the demo is Taxonomy Cloud / Cumulus

However, Taxonomy can be used in user groups, permissions, etc, and more description can be found at the project proposal : http://theebgar.net/2009/taxonomy-extension-project-proposal/
