GSOC 2009: Joomla! LDAP Integration Updates

The LDAP User Component and Plugin is ready for the testing.

Admin need not provide what kind of backend LDAP implementation(e.g. AD or OpenLDAP) the joomla is using.

I tested it for Microsoft AD 2003 and OpenLDAP. And seems work fine for the configuration.

Following are the snapshots of my test configurations.

Microsoft Active Directory 2003
LDAP Configuration

AD User Template Details

User LDAP Plugin

OpenLDAP
LDAP Configuration

OpenLDAP User Template

The code can be downloaded for testing from:

  1. I am very interested in your project. My goal is to be able to authenticate joomla users from my active directory. I have achieved that using the ldap plugin that comes with joomla. But now I would like to be able to create users from my joomla website and have them added to active directory automaticly. Is this what you project does? I have installed it and played around with the settings but cant seem to get much working. I might not understand exactly how it is supposed to work. Is there any documentation to go with this project? or maybe a guide to help explain some features?

Any help would be much appreciated.
  2. I have got your plugin working. The only problem i am experiencing so far is that I cant get the password to set in AD via joomla.
