There may be 9 million bicycles in Beijing..
Written by Ole Bang Ottosen
..but who could ever, then back in late summer of 2005, have imagined this Joomla! software being downloaded more than 1 million times? I for sure didnt have the slightest clue that this amazing community would just grow and grow.
Still getting impressed by the amount of people joining the community each day and their great contributions, and occasionally then there is one of these "Wow" situations that make you think: This is huge!
Had one of these "Wows" this evening, when randomly checking for new language packs from the international community, and then had my eyes stopping at a this 8,999,...
You don´t even think of this when working with all the nice and friendly people in the community each day, so it was quite amazing to update the page and see 8,999,412 become 8,999,518 shortly after. Made me curious and another refresh seconds later ,583..
What else to do than wait a few mins. and there it was - almost.
Didnt get that special 9 mill. edition of joomla!, but I feel good with having one of the other 8,999,999
Dont worry, think we have a few copies left. so go grab one of the 9,000,000+ and make us proud of inviting you inside the world of joomla!

Maybe publishing a counter down, give us a good motive for a universal Joomla! Party.
Well... is an idea... i'm very happy for that!

Hope he uses your idea of a count down counter. That might be cool on J! Web sites world-wide.

Hey Steve! My site is governmental but I am sure that in the position 'debug' could put a discret 'count down module'. Will can propose it to some colleagues.
Really, +95% of government sites from my country are developed on Joomla!. There is much that we must thank to Joomla!
