It is no secret that the Joomla! forums get a lot of traffic. Any forum with over 100,000 members probably get a lot of traffic. Some of you may be surprised at just how much traffic the Joomla forums gets.

We use Google Analytics to keep track of statistics.

The following data gives you a big picture of what and who was on the forums from "Aug 17, 2008 - Sep 16, 2008":

The following image shows a graph of page views per day. The pattern is obvious. It appears that most people use the forum on the weekdays. There are dips on the weekends. The labels on the left and right show just over 100,000 page views per day.

In total, there were 3,326,204 page views from August 17th to September 16th. That averages out to 107,297 page views per day.

Let's now take a look at the fun stuff... where are all these people coming from?

Put simple: Everywhere!

Although most visitors are from the United States, you can see a strong presence in almost every country in in the world. That is simply amazing.

Visits by Country

The fine folks at Google have given us a way to break it down and look at the exact numbers by country. Note: These are visits, not page views. So, one visit can produce multiple page views.

Countries

Did any of the information above come to a surprise to you? Personally, the thing that surprised me the most was that Thailand had a stronger presence than Australia.

I am actually surprised there are that many countries viewing the forums. It's real neat to see a project like Joomla! is getting a lot of volunteer help and traffic!

Great news, I especially love the pirate speak as well. Keep up the good work--the server has been performing quite well lately. I always say that one of the best reasons to go with Joomla is the amazing community support.

hi, i am from Malaysia, just below thailand. it's good to know something i decide to pick-up is so... very... popular. this definately give everyone a good reason and encouragement to learn joomla and contribute too.

Where are the spanish & portuguese speaking communities (Spain & Brazil in forst place in terms of volume)

Quite interesting when you calculate the percentage of the population in a country visited the Joomla forums. This is the result for the top-10 countries:
