The Joomla Support Staff Stinks!

How many times have we seen that written in the forums, in one way or another?  And you know what, I agree.  Every last one of them.  Wait, who is the Joomla Support Staff?

That's right... there isn't a support staff.  New users to the forum frequently make the mistake of blaming unanswered posts on the failings of the nonexistent "support staff".

Sure, we've got forum moderators and administrators.  They are tasked with making sure the posts are in the right forums, that the posts follow the rules, signatures are in line with the guidelines, etc.

But while forum moderators frequently take the time to answer questions in the topics they moderate, that is merely a bonus.  The forum moderators are not responsible for answering support questions.

The Joomla! forum is entirely the responsibility of the community itself.  Every individual forum user has the ability to answer a question or two.  The more questions each user answers, at their own ability level, the fewer questions are left unanswered.

I encourage everyone to read and answer as many questions as they can, because quite frankly that's the best way to learn.  Answering the questions you know and reading the ones you don't will eventually make you a Joomla! expert.

  1. If you answer two questions for every one question you ask, you will learn so much and the community will thrive for it. That's how I got started. Try it, you will be amazed!
  2. Brilliant concept. I'm going to actively participate.
  3. No-one working on Joomla stink..... They're so cool that they wouldn't perspire.... therefore they wouldn't stink.. ;-)
  4. Hi,

I do not know where i can post my queries?

    P.S. -
    I . In case this post is in wrong community, kindly refer the right one;
    II. Queries are -
    1. I can not figure out where to get the thing which is at bottom of this comment posting page as well (stop spam...)
    2. I want to have a normal page, with links which connects other pages on our website only, cant figure out how to do the same.
  5. Everyone who works on Joomla is one awesome human being. Wish I had the $s and time to buy each of you a beer (or other favorite beverage).
  6. You know, it takes time, but not as much as law school. I personally find that revisiting the forums keeps me updated on many issues. I did spend a lot of time to learn but just like muscle tissue, if you don't use it, you lose it. The forums are a great place to stay in shape and I believe that to be true at every level, just like exercise in general.
  7. I thought (naive), that we are the only one with such problems ;)

    Regards,
    Radek
