Webinar: Introducing Joomla! Working Copy

Hi everyone. We're wrapping up a very successful Google Summer of Code season. We've asked each student to do a short webinar demonstrating their projects. The first one is Edvard Ananyan's amazing Joomla! Working Copy extension.

Have you ever wanted to have a working copy of your Joomla! website where you could install and test new extensions and then be able to "automagically" synchronize it with your live site? If so, then Edvard's extension is just what you've been waiting for!

Click here to view his 20-minute webinar where he demonstrates how easy it is to use this cool new extension. Way to go, Edvard!

  1. Boy, I hope one of these students took a look at ecommerce. Joomla without a working EC will lead into people choosing other CMS for their sites... Yes, I know that VirtualMart is around, but have you seen the post, no answer, no updates, very slow further development.
  2. can't open link
  3. WOW! Thanks for this fantastic introduction to this amazing extension! Our dev team can't wait for this.
  4. WCP seems to be a kind of "must have" extension for Joomla! I have just realized how badly I had been missing it for ages.

Good job Ed! Well done! Thanks!
  5. This is great! I can't tell you how many times I've wished for something like this! I see v1.0.0 is now available in the project downloads - can I assume this means it's ready for deployment on production sites? 8-)

    Great job Ed!
  6. Thanks!!!

The 1.0.0 version will be officially announced soon, I've submitted it to JED and it is being reviewed currently.
  7. Hi Edvard,

It isn't showing up on the JED yet - is it 'safe' for me to go ahead and use the 1.0.0 version that was available in the project downloads? Or is there a reason to wait?

    Thanks,
    Scott
