Joomla! Slovenian

Slovenian joins the officially released language packs for Joomla!, an award winning Content Management System (CMS). The Joomla Translations Working Group has accredited Slovenian as an official language pack for Joomla 3.5. With the addition of the Slovenian language, Joomla websites can now be published in 65 languages spoken around the world. These language packs come handy when developing both monolingual and multilingual sites using Joomla!

The users can now choose Slovenian as the language of their choice for the installation of Joomla! In addition, Slovenian can be used as the default back-end administration language and front-end site language. With this language pack, users will see the Joomla labels and messages in the Slovenian language. The language pack can be installed using the feature Install Languages or just like installing any other Joomla extension. If a user wants to customise any label or message, it can be done easily using language override for Slovenian.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Sretko Devič who has created the Slovenian language pack. The information about the Slovenian language pack is available at

The aim of the Joomla Translations Working Group’s Localisation Project is to continuously strive to provide an up-to-date translation of core Joomla into various languages. This is a significant project, and requires around ten thousand phrases to be translated. The current list of language packs for Joomla! 3 is available at

Applications for the jet programme for J and Beyond 2016 are now open

The Joomla! Event Traveller Programme (JET) is pleased to announce that we will be taking applications from the worldwide Joomla community for the upcoming JandBeyond, to be held between 20th and 22nd of May, 2016 Barcelona, Spain.

A reduced budget has been approved for use by the JET team to run the program for JAB 2016.   There is a 25% limit on 2015 line items because the 2016 budget has yet to be finalised and approved and will not be until at least the end of March 2016.

Please consider these limitations before applying for the program, also because of the financial restrictions, we have included the option for you to elect to pay for your ticket, accommodation and/or flight, the selection criteria will not take these items into account, but if you are able to contribute something towards your attendance, it will free up more funds for those that are less able to.

Please also check that you will not be already be covered for the trip by your project team (if any).

The deadline for applications is the 6th of March 2016 and the recipients will be announced by the 12th of March 2016.

Application Criteria

Please note, these criteria and conditions must be met.

Please read the guidelines carefully. Good luck!

The criteria to be followed by the JET Team for the election of candidates is as follows:

  • Applications of the candidates will be arranged in accordance with the contributions made to the Joomla project (especially during the last year) based on the information enclosed in the application and duly proven with recommendations from team or working group leaders.

  • Subsequently, all applicants will be accepted in order of appearance in the final list until the estimated budget for this edition of the JET Programme is reached.

  • This is an opportunity for the entire Joomla community, however, priority will be given to those participants who have not yet received a JET recognition.

  • The JET Team will give special consideration to well written applications that include details and timeframes of their participation in the Joomla project.

  • You must have a valid passport and be eligible for any necessary travel visas. Please contact your local Embassy to know if a travel visa is required. Expenses to acquire any travel documents are not included with the JET recognition.
